About the Artist

Gary lives on the side of a mountain, in a cabin he built from logs he harvested and set himself. Inside the house are tables, bows and even wooden spoons that he has made himself. His work is distinctive, smooth lines, carefully chosen hardwoods, and often with intricate joinery.  He has been building with wood since he was a child, mostly practical things although he has been known to carve ravens, herons and even horses.  He is the man who you will find under a table or chair, or studying the arc of a rocker in your house when you aren’t looking.  Furniture and its construction intrigues him.  Just don’t call him an artist.  He considers that pompous.  To him the Creator of the wood he uses is the artist.
